French Teacher Resources

Some of my more general teaching resources. Feel free to use them as you see fit, but please acknowledge their source!

Literacy mat – we use these in French lessons as an on-desk resource. Students really quickly get used to using them as reference material.

Speaking and writing levels checklist

We use this, printed onto A3 paper and laminated to enable students to work out what they need to do to get to the next level in Speaking and Writing. NB: this is based on the Welsh National Curriculum orders, which are different to the English national curriculum.

Word wall words

We have printed these off and made posters of them on different-coloured paper: we can then refer students to the blue poster, the green poster, etc. Here’s what the finished word wall looks like:

Core Vocab

Many of the students at our school arrive part of the way through the year, and have often never studied French before. One of the ways we support these students is by giving them the core vocab for the previous years and themes that they may have missed.

All students receive the core vocab for the previous year’s study. They also receive a new list to stick in the back of their exercise books at the start of each theme.

Merci encore!
